Rhine (2019)

A cruise down the river Rhine, from Cologne to Strasbourg, yielded many photographs.

Thinking about how to deal with them, led me to consider a flag book, since this should, when opened out, give the sense of a river with its two banks.

This gave the opportunity to emphasis the two faces of the Rhine - the landscape through which it flows and the industry congregating on its banks. Each page is 'labelled' with the name of the river in one of the seven countries through which it flows to the sea.
